As an old guy who was a kid who tried (but never succeeded) to be cool in the 80s, I approve of this hairstyle. We never had the piercings, but we would have if they’d been available.

I don’t get what’s odd about this, or most of the other hairstyles. Two years ago this may have been weird, but it’s 2011. This is commonplace.
