My intention with this blog is not — nor will it ever be — to make fun of fat people. I’ve never subscribed to the idea that someone shouldn’t be allowed to dress the way they want just because they don’t match the height/weight ratio that our society has deemed ideal.
I do, however, strongly abhor the notion of stealing, especially from children. Somewhere out there, right now, there is a toddler missing her swimsuit, and this woman is responsible. Shame on you, lady. That just isn’t right.

I want to come up with a catchy comment
I want to say something funny
Right now – I can not force my mind to think of anything but “…..nooo!”
poor child and her missing swimsuit
It’s the recession. She can’t afford to buy a new and larger swimsuit. So she’s wearing the one she had from before she had the kids.
Dear Lord! My Eyes!!
that… my friends… is a lot of ass
i have to again say that I will never be able to unsee that!!………But unfortunately this isn’t the first time i’ve seen something like that *grumbles about woman who ruined fave picnic spot*
Sadly, she’d probably look cute and curvy if she’d accept the fact that she no longer wears a size 6.
Exactly. Dressing for the job you want but don’t have might work, but dressing for the body you want but don’t have rarely does. (This coming from a fourteen who’d love to be a six, but realizes she hasn’t worn a six since seventh grade…)
HER ASS IS EATING THE PANTS!!!!!
I’m a fat woman and I say we do NOT have the right to dress any way we want. We MUST dress in a manner appropriate for our bodies. Just like a skinny girl should not wear a circus tent, we have no business wearing two pieces, anything too small, too short, going without a bra, thongs, low riders, anything sleeveless, capped sleeves, etc. We should HIDE our flaws and only let those good parts of our body show. We MUST ONLY wear ONE piece bathing suits. NO horizontal stripes or big patterns.
When you dress in a matter fitting your size you’re showing respect for yourself and others around you. When you dress in a manner more becoming to a woman who’s 6 feet tall and 115 pounds, you’re NOT “empowering” yourself as so many of my fellow fatties want to claim, you’re DISRESPECTING yourself. You’re saying “My self esteem is so low I want any kind of attention, even negative attention.”
Ya know, i think i love you ^^ you are honest and speak the truth, i wish i saw more women with your view on things. Its true, i’ve seen way too many overweight people wearing things they shouldn’t, wondering how they get the nerve to go out in public like that.
I just have to ask, how in the world does she even move? It looks like its cutting off circulation to her legs. To mention this is one of those times i am very very happy that this is not a frontal picture.
being a voluptuous woman myself I agree whole heartedly. We can be daring to a point with what we wear. It is for this reason…I have a three way mirror. I want to know what every angle looks like. If my rear is hanging out…I need to know. If I have rolls…I need to know. We women with curves can be downright showstopping with the right amount of material and for all the right reasons ; D
The woman in front of me in a meeting recently had um, breasts on her back. Two rounded decent-sized bulges, above the waistline of her pants, with what would have been cleavage except that the whole thing was covered. With a tight black t-shirt sort of thing.
And there were more rolls elsewhere — but I’ve managed to forget that part.
I feel the same way you do, though obviously there are others who don’t.
I’m thinking about how uncomfortable that WEDGIE has to be – OUCH!
And to add one of my rules: Women with bony chests should not wear low-cut stuff.
Here, here! There are plenty of stores that carry flattering clothes for women of “above average weight” of all body types. Why do some larger women feel the need to degrade themselves by wearing clothes that obviously not meant for them? I’m a larger woman, and I can’t understand it. That, and baggy pants… But, I’ve also seen smaller women wearing something obviously too small for them. Maybe somewhere along the lines, our culture took the stance “less is more” and unfortunately, larger women took that as a sign to wear tighter-fitting, less flattering clothes. A bit of a backwards move, really…
I agree with *most* of what you just said. There are thongs made for bigger girls, to avoid the whole nasty panty line look – but, that said .. fat girls shouldn’t wear thongs for display purposes. I, too, am a fat chick and I’m often chanting “Just because you can doesn’t mean you should!”
Other no-nos for big girls: spandex/lycra, midriff baring shirts, catchy slogans/wording across the boobs.
Seriously, ladies .. if not for yourself at least do it for those who have to see you (and then promptly want to bleach their eyeballs)!
You ROCK! And I don’t care WHAT size you are – just WEAR THE RIGHT SIZE! Like you said – you look better and feel better when it fits you and is flattering and attractive! No one knows if it’s an 18, or a 24, or whatever – but they sure as hell CAN tell when it’s too big! I’m a proud-to-make-big-look-good girl….even fit and in good shape, I’m never below a 12….and who cares? I don’t wear something that cuts off circulation just to “fool” myself…
Good for you, but it’s sad in our culture that a woman wearing a size 12 is made to feel “big.” *shakes head in wonder*
you should still wear a suit and go to the beach. If you are uncomfortable with showing your body, there are many beautiful sarongs you can wrap around you, look amazing and enjoy the beach.
While I can agree with many parts of what you’ve said here, and while I don’t want to start an argument, I would like to say something from a different viewpoint: As a man who likes larger women, I can attest to the fact that certain “flaws” of a fuller figure are not always such. There are so many cases where something that can seem hideous or distateful to one person may be lovely to another. There are certainly times and places where wearing skimpier or ill-fitting clothing is rude and innapropriate, of course, and this picture shows just such an occurance. But not every woman who wears something like this is trying to draw attention to herself just for attention’s sake. There are women who feel that they truly are beautiful with a body this size or larger, and if they want to show off then they should have the right to do so without people accusing them of having some sort of complex.
That said, this stolen little girl swimsuit is still way beyond even that limit.
While I agree that some things should be covered up for common decency reasons, I disagree that we should hide our flaws. I’d hate for your comment to incite ugly people to wear bags over their heads.
Thank you! What you said is exactly right! As a large person myself, I know that there are some clothes that are, for everyones safety, off limits.
But, I gotta say, sometimes, no matter how skinny you are, you should just wear a one-piece. I don’t want to see you bum hanging out or your bewbs either. Have alittle class. Just alittle!
I totally agree with you. I am short & “fluffy,” But, I’m kinda tired of seeing all that flesh, large or skinny. Come on people, put on some clothes. The world is not your bathroom.
You know Jami, you’re absolutely right. I’m a big girl too, but you’d never catch me wearing something like this. Just because you’re okay with being fat, doesnt mean you can wear skimpy bikinis and walk around in public!
Its humiliating and disgraceful. A tasteful one-piece would’ve worked better for her yes?
If she’d bought the right size, she could be lookin’ good. Most of the bulgy-ness here is due to the fact that the suit. does. not. fit. It makes me want to take her shopping, frankly.
There once was a size twenty-four,
Who put on a few pounds — or more.
Couldn’t wear a tankini-
Stole a size six bikini-
And strutted her ass out the door
lol
I like to think she’s just put ‘em on backwards and at the front she has yards, and yards of billowing fabric.
Hope springs eternal.
Hi, how are you? I really like ur blog! I am wondering if u can assist me (im sure some other readers may also be interested). I want to get involved in blogging as well and I at the moment use a blog with wordpress, but it is very confusing for me to create and I would like to attempt to find some decent training materials or courses (preferably ones that are free) that can hopefully assist me in making use of word press correctly. As a Word Press site owner yourself, do u perhaps maybe know were i can find online tutorials to be able to do this myself?? Thanks!
Hello, great site. I look forward to your next article. Thank you, Jolie
Hello, great comment. I look forward to your next topic. Thank you, Sammi
How long did it take her to get those pants on? I have a little extra poundage on me (not as much as the gal in the picture), but I don’t even own a pair of swim bottoms, I wear shorts. I am NOT going to subject a child to therapy because my ass doesn’t look good in swim bottoms.
Howdy, I obtained your blog in a new directory of blogs. I dont know how your internet site showed up, could have been a typoo, anyhowYour statements above looks honest. Have a nice day.
