Actually I stand corrected. Its Harajuku Candy Girl. Its close to Ganguro though. But its the Candy Kid Raver people with the rainbows and bright colors.
Close, but not quite. It’s called Cyber Goth, popular style in Japan and Europe. Look up DJ SiSeN and Takuya Angel, and those are the two biggest icons for said style. Harajuku Candy Girl is pretty close though.

Actually, kandi goth (being as I AM kandi goth and have a pretty good idea what it is) is the same as plain old goth, except that one might wear obnoxious amounts of kandi (rave beads), and even then, that’s generally only to raves. Most kandi goth simply dress goth day-to-day.
Cyber goth is amazing and last time I checked I know a lot of goths who wear bright colors so… fail..
wow… u “regular” people have a distorted knowledge about what’s GOTH. it’s not only black stuff…. We don’t quite study the styles… It’s a way of life. Let’s say Goth is a way of life and within the goth style are many different sub-genres…. Cyber goth is one of them and to tell you the truth, cyber goths often wear coloured outfifs, with bright colours (normally UV reactive clothes) I guess you should do some research not to be talking about something that is unknown to you and to prevent you from looking like an ignorant….
actually, it is candy girl. Or in western culture, possibly cyber. CyberGOTH is something different, though the mistake is easy to make. Cyber utilises bright, claching colours, while cybergoth uses more blacks, and sombre colours with perhaps one bright colour. The music is also different; KMFDM instead of DJ Sisen. Gas masks instead of babies dummies…stuff like that. It’s more dystopian and indistrial.

Her name is Ayumi, she’s another Japanese model. She’s got some pretty great outfits. The boots are made by Swear (think Spice Girls), the skirt I do believe to be Cyberdog and the hair is a bubblewrap wig made by [A]narchy Hair in Harajuku, the same people who make SiSen’s wigs.

Look up on Google, Candy Kid Ravers, and open another tab. Look up Harajuku, both in the images section. Combine those two styles together. Now, open another tab and look up Cybergoth. Compare… The two are nothing alike. Its a Harajuku Candy Girl. The hair style itself may be cybergoth, but the rest of her outfit, along with the colors make it a Harajuku Candy Girl Raver. I know cybergoths do wear some colors that are out there, but the majority of it are neon colors with black, thrown in.
I confess, I’ve always just sort of grouped them all together under “ravers” (candy, cyber goth, cyber punk, gravers, etc). That’s what I should have said.
As a cyber goth myself, I would wear that though.

she is japanese and part of cyber-kei which is like crazy cyber style and a bit like techno style in other countries just (like most scenes in japan) blown up to to much. Its the oposite of visual kei which apears to be quite dark and gothic.
for me living in japan it became pretty normal seeing these people but i can imagine its stange and funny to people who never got in touch with it.

Okay, really…GOTH is a style of music. Same as hip hop, country, rap, and metal. Goths are the FOLLOWERS of GOTH music FOR EXAMPLE Bauhaus, Siouxsie and the Banshees and Dead Can Dance. Yes, you have your different goths but like you have your “gangsters” for rap and hip hop, you have your metal heads for metal music. You can MAKE it a way of life…but generally speaking…listening to The Birthday Massacre and wearing all black doesn’t make you goth anymore than eating junk food will make you skinny.
Jenelle, i agree with you. But, first of all The Birthday Massacre is not goth music, second it is a way of life. It’s not like you wear just black, listen to Bauhaus or whatever and then you’re goth. Just like wearing streat wear and listening to Hip-Hop or Rap doesn’t make you a gangster, but most of the people that do so have that specific way of life. I could be listening to something like VNV Nation or Noisuf-X, wearing jeans, a random t-shirt and snickers and be (in some way) cyber. It’s all in the mind i guess. If you live for that, it doesn’t matter what the f*ck you wear.
