Im an 18 year-old female, and a published teen novelist. Seeing this sort of thing makes me feel sad for girls who can’t afford REAL clothes. As you say ‘tacky hotpants’ sure, these things are fine but in your own home. I wouldn’t be caught dead in anything that short in public. And no it’s not shrewish, and no I’m not conservative, because I’m more than happy to walk around in a singlet and shorts.
