Fashion Fail - Also Useful For Catching Raccoons

Submitted by: dunno source via Submission Page

Sometimes it’s just too hot to leave the house in head-to-toe quasi-futuristic Victorian regalia. Even steampunks go to the beach.

  1. arahman32 says:

That’s one of the most genious pieces of fashion I’ve seen.

And why it’s so lonely here?

  2. JMixx says:

Now I need a marble, a chute, a rickety set of steps, a guy in a bathing costume getting ready to dive into a tub…

  3. Geisha_Girl says:

Love it too, with the cherry on top (or bottom, since they’re shoes) being the Louboutins.

  4. halja says:

…how is this poorly dressed? She’s obviously at some goth event, so she’s dressed appropriately for the occasion.
    And the shoes are gorgeous.

  5. Snookie_Townshend says:

I like it. And I’m loving the shoes, too.

  6. Amanthissa says:

I’m loving the shoes and knickers!

  7. Anja says:

Oh, I love this. Look at all the people in the background wearing black, it’s obviously a theme. Love the Louboutins. Fail for putting this picture up as a fail.

  8. Alliegata says:

    Best game of Mousetrap EVER.

  9. tuuli says:

I’m absolutely inlove with teh shoes <3

  10. Spanman says:

    Crinolines are so passe.

  11. Chass says:

That would never catch a raccoon. Have you people ever MET a raccoon? They’re not stupid enough to get caught in something like that.

    • Tolling says:

      Chill, it’s a joke…

You have to admit, though, that would be funny to watch.

    • Geisha_Girl says:

Yoplait had to redesign it’s yogurt containers to make the opening bigger because raccoons would get their heads caught in them and couldn’t figure out how to get them off. They starved to death. Raccoons are not terribly smart.

If one did get in there, though, this Goth chick would get first prize in the costume contest due to the hoop skirt revealing bloody legs from the raccoon trying to get out.

      • Bemused says:

Raccoons aren’t terribly smart? Tell that to the ones that keep springing our traps and getting away with the food, they’ll laugh their asses off.

Once upon a time, women actually wore a skirt over their hoop skirt….

  12. Evakat says:

    Lady gaga is that you?

    • Missy says:

Why is it that anytime someone wears something mildly eccentric, people have to make a Lady Gaga joke. I’m pretty sure people did things like this before she was even born. Jeez.

    • I_Bow_To_Sarcasm says:

Please. If a snarky comment is necessary, be a little more creative than some joke tearing down people who-GOD FORBID!-deviate from the masses stylewise.

    • H-dizzle says:

I thought this person was being snide, and then I noticed the Louboutins…

  13. Laura says:

A cage skirt! They have patterns in Gothic Lolita and Goth mags how to make these, but I am not clever enough to figure it out. LOVE IT though!

  14. Tahiti says:

I saw a similar pair of those shoes in the movie “She’s Out of My League” I have to have them! Anyone know where to get them??

    • halja says:

I don’t know about the movie, but these are Louboutins. You can look for boutiques in your city on his website:
      http://www.christianlouboutin.com
Altough you may find them in other stores, as well. The one where my friend got hers, for eyample, isn’t on there. (Maybe ’cause they sell other brands, too?)

    • Geisha_Girl says:

In incredibly expensive shoe/department stores, Nordstrom being one. In the Couture Shoe department. If you can afford them I’m seriously jealous!

  15. Teddy says:

if that’s dressing poorly, I never want to dress “sharp” -3-

  16. Bubbles says:

Where’s The rest of the dress?

  17. No1askedme says:

This style inspired by the classic board game, “Mousetrap”!

  18. Zaney says:

Wow(in a good way)! That is absolutely gorgeous… if this is what poorly dressed looks like, I wonder what the girls at my school would be called XD

  19. M says:

That’s at the wave gotik Treffen festival in Leipzig, Germany.
Many girls walk around in clothes like that there, it’s usual (and sometimes men do so, too)

    • Balu says:

I think, a 3rd of the WGT-dresses are worth to be posted here….
some of them might be too generous.
(sadly concearning the girls, luckily concearning the guys….)

  20. merri says:

Reminds me of something Clive James once wrote about Torvill and Dean’s ice dancing costumes… ”bum freezer frilled skirts for her…”

  21. Romanticide says:

I love this picture! (being a Goth myself)
To bad we can’t see the whole outfit, I bet it’s amazingly beautiful :)

  22. JM says:

this is some kind of EroLolita stuff.
Her shoes are awesome and I love her legs!

  23. BigB says:

It looks like MacGuyver made this dress out of some twine and a few paper clips to escape from somewhere.

  24. natti says:

i saw this woman some weeks ago in germany on the wave and gothic meeting, that´s the reason for all the black dressed people around her

  25. Perry says:

    It’s a chastity skirt.

  26. tompliss says:

I love this dress, anyone found a “complete” picture ?

  27. maglindracia says:

    awesome outfit! yay goth festival!

  28. justme says:

OMG It looks exactly like the piece from the Mousetrap board game!!

  31. Tyra Beiber says:

Also good for not getting raped!! :P

  32. markus says:

this picture was shot at the WGT (= Wave-Gotik-Treffen)! it’s a meeting for gothics, that takes place in Leipzig (Germany) every year.

check out: http://www.alive-erfurt.de/wgt-2010 for more pictures ;)

  33. Kate says:

This was taken on the WGT (Wave Gotik Treffe) in Leipzig I’m sure… look at their site to see more adorable (and freaky *g*) outfits… Btw it’s the biggest festival for gothic in the world… :)

  34. Genevieve says:

Dude it totally looks like some Elizabethan lingerie attempt. I agree that this one isn’t a fail at all. And yeah, it is totally a Goth convention.

  35. Patty says:

I want this entire outfit. Shoes included (not that I would ever be able to afford Louboutins. I’m tempted to see if I can make this. It would be absolutely perfect for a night at Dragon*Con!

  36. me says:

I want to be inside of there.

  37. Bunny says:

For those of you saying those shoes are Louboutins, they aren’t. Red sole, yes, but they’re most likely, given the outfit, a pair of fetish heels from Pleaser USA, a popular dance/fetish shoe company. They did come out with a red-soled black patent pump a couple seasons ago for their general catalog. I believe they were under the “Penthouse by Pleaser” label.

(Sorry, erotica-store clerk nerdery coming out…)

  38. CAKE says:

I want this dress so bad. :D

  39. HPJediKnight says:

soooo this is a hoop underskirt, or crinoline, from somewhere around 1865, not the victorian era which was later in the 1800′s and in which the bustle silhouette was popular. this actually looks historically legit, although im not sure about the rest of the outfit or what the purpose of it in this picture is!

  40. Anon says:

    This actually looks damn hot.

  41. E says:

    Like the shoes! :)

  42. hannahbananafrommontana says:

This would be perfect for my Lady Gaga halloween costume this year :)

  43. Miss Llil says:

Has anyone found a place to buy this yet???

  44. Fluffylace says:

Totally reminded me of Ashlotte in Soul Calibur 4! Maybe its just me…?

  45. Ise says:

Hehe, Wave-Gotik-Treffen in Leipzig, Germany, for sure. :P

  46. Your Face says:

Her dress is still loading, guys. Don’t be so rude.

  47. Batty says:

That girl is probably on Wave Gotik Treffen :D . I evy her.

However I really like her clothing style. I don’t know why is she here.

  48. Karmzilla says:

Show of hands, who thinks that this is strangley hot? ~raises both my hands~ Alright, 2 so far.
