Fashion Fail - Extreme Ganguro

Submitted by: dunno source via Submission Page

I like to imagine that both of these people are appalled by the other’s look. Blondie is all “Some people really take the Ganguro thing too far,” and Ganguro is thinking “Who the hell matches a Burberry scarf with a leopard-print bag? GROSS.”

what up with the girls leg on the right

  2. Shipoopi says:

ah, and now Ganguro has become a parody of Ganguro, which was a parody, wonderful

  3. Brombaq says:

The left thing is a TROLL

  4. Geisha_Girl says:

Whatever it is, I love it. The girl’s bag and scarf probably look fine further away from each other, like when she holds it at her side. I adore the Japanese, they have such a great sense of humor and fun.

    • Anonyminous says:

If by that, you mean that they’re all f*#@ing weirdos, then yes.

      • Geisha_Girl says:

I’m sure Japanese people everywhere appreciate your lack of cultural respect.

        • percocet princess says:

I’m sure the Japanese people everywhere will love your attempt to kiss their ass.

          :/

Just as the rest of us are sure that the pharmacutical industry adore lil’ ol’ YOU for nicknaming yourself after a particularly addictive painkiller… meh
Personally, I find the Japanese culture overall interesting, amazingly diverse compared to ours and in many ways quite strange…

          • filthsteppin says:

That wasn’t even clever. Fail, for trying to be subtle and funny by using the age old “show no emotion, always use a period” method. Go troll more interwebz before you attempt you make a funny on her, dumb whore lolol

          • You Know Me says:

What if the commenter above happens to be Japanese?
            Who’s burning now?

        • Dani says:

I don’t respect their culture because most of the country is involved in prostitution and they have a look-away policy on rape. They even have “Games” where the entire point is rape.

          • K S says:

You do realize the same is in your country, right?

          • kyasarin says:

So, um, why have I never heard of any of this when I LIVE IN JAPAN? Not to say there aren’t some fairly backward views on women in this country–I’m glad I’m not a schoolgirl who has to take the subway every day, let’s put it that way–but the actual rate of sexual violence is very low here, in spite of what you might see in manga and anime. I can walk home at night, by the port, under a long overpass, and never worry even a little about my personal safety.

        • ANON says:

Actually, if I am correct, the one on the left is part of a subculture in Japan called “Gyaru,” a trend even considered by the Japanese to be strange and unholy. It’s not culture, it started as a movement by high school age whores trying to get attention and is now mainly by weirdos who have nothing to do with their lives and money.

      • kandieman says:

well mr anonyminous can’t spell his own name so he is obviously an ill educated individual anyway (his comment is null and void just like his resume)

  5. Kiara says:

Its probably just the angle.. but the knee of the girl on the right looks not okay..

  6. syd says:

no, i think she should probably go to the hospital.

  7. KeiDub says:

WTF is going on with that girl’s leg?!

  8. Jacknife says:

I like the fact that nobody cares about the ganguro anymore, its all about the Jap’s leg :P

  9. notolaf says:

Seriously. Those navies don’t even match.

  10. BecauseofOz says:

FYI, The thing on the left is a ‘He’

  11. argentlupus says:

I thought that was George Clinton at first. ~shudders~

  12. Is says:

    WTF…keep it at a distance..

  13. lolkates says:

that is not ganguro. that is ‘yamamba’. which literally means ‘mountain hag’ and wow she really does look like a mountain hag…..

    • Kamizilla says:

You’re right, but people basically use the two terms interchangeably anymore. Some ganguro/yamamba are some of the more sociable people in Tokyo-as in they’ll actually talk to you if you approach them. I think their appearance is kind of like a test – if you’re put off by it, then of course they’ll ignore you.
But yeah, still hideous – and they know it.

  14. Bruised Almighty says:

Surprised our local “photoshop expert” hasn’t chimed in yet about the leg. Ah, well, it’s early yet! :: lifts coffee mug ::

  15. merri says:

Wel! let’s see… The shoes don’t work on either outfit, the photo was taken by someone on stilts, neither girl can pose, and is that a tarantula I see on Simba’s head?

    • Ralph says:

      Agreed.

The fact that the man (?) on the right could take the time to find matching printed pantsuit/trench but couldn’t find a damn pair of black and/or white shoes to complete the ensemble is just plain disheartening!

And those brown loafers… well let’s just say that if she likes those then I have a closetful of Grandma’s Naturalizers to sell her.

  16. CAKE says:

While i’m no fan of Ganguro, her dreads are kind of…..awesome. -w-

  17. pix says:

    Is that Snuffaluffagus?

  18. Kerry says:

The one on the left is a guy. :D

    • Watermelonz says:

Wow you sure are silly honey, they both have XY chromes babe. You people think you’re so clever

    • i am not telling you my name. okay? so just read my comment says:

no its not a guy or a girl….. it both, you know half and half! :D

  19. VoR says:

i find it amusing that someone is being attacked for a “lack of cultural respect” in response to people who think blackface is okay and are attempting to do it to additional ethnicities.

  20. nonotrly says:

Damnit, Japan! Why do you always do stuff like this?

    • Kamizilla says:

      … because you touch yourself.

    • kyasarin says:

Because workday life is generally characterized by such rigid conformity that when they get a chance to let their hair down, the Japanese show the rest of the world how it’s done.

  21. Silent says:

The blonde one looks worryingly like my ex…

  22. Gabriel says:

Oh, and the one on the right is a Kogal (part of the Kogyaru fashion) :)

  23. Marilyn says:

The guy’s hair kind of reminds me of cheetos.

  24. nom says:

im pretty sure those are BOTH men

  25. Watermelonz says:

    I love them both!

  26. Kamizilla says:

I just call them Pandas, because it forces me to think of them as cute little bears instead of fashion monstrosities. That, and the white make-up around the eyes resembles a Panda. I was sure at one point in time, that’s what they were referred to alongside Yamamba/Ganguro/Gonguro… but I’ve been out of the loop.

  27. me? says:

    cheetos!!! NOM NOM NOM!!

  28. dodraugen says:

LEG INFO: She was quite simply bending her leg a bit, and since the lower leg doesn’t show well under the knee then it looks rather weird from that angle.
(Please ignore any wrong choice of words, English is still not my mother tongue.)

  29. Matrika says:

which one has the worst nose ??

  30. i am not telling you my name. okay? so just read my comment says:

ok thats not scary at all. (lie lie cough cough)

  31. i am not telling you my name. okay? so just read my comment says:

PEOPLE: IF YOU SEE THIS GUY- NO, WAIT I MEAN GIRL- WAIT……. WHATEVER IT IS, RUN AND HIDE YOUR KIDS RIGHT AWAY!

  32. Becca says:

At first I was like “DJ Sisen?” but then I remembered he never had orange dreads, he isn’t all creepy colored and he isn’t a freak. The clothing is weird too.

  33. Bambi says:

He/She (I’ll say he going by the size of their hands and feet…I really can’t tell otherwise :( ) just looks like some sort of demonic panda-whore. Hes probably a lovely person really but hes burning my eyes x

  34. Lai-Lai says:

The one on the left is a Yamanba Senaagai. The one on the right is a Kogal.

  35. Knarf says:

I’m a little put off that the person who originally captioned used the word Burberry. What is a Burberry and can it be made into a pie?

  36. Anka Okoln says:

    Ganguro!!!!!!!!!

  37. faintedtears says:

I think he’s cool. Showing the non-conforming Goths how to REALLY non-conform =D
scarily enough the school girl looks like a girl I know….

  38. daredevil8699 says:

Wow, I think the one with the orange hair stole one of Christina Aguilera’s old looks.

  39. Astrid says:

    Snookie, is that you?

  40. Karmzilla says:

QUICK! Somebody save the cut eone from the dreaded ganguro! ~steals the cute one~ You’ll be Ms.Glitterbones. ~puts her next to Mr.Sparkles, the skrawny gingerkid~ :D
