Well, I can’t say for sure that he is Japanese, but he *is* in Japan. The writing on the wall behind him is in Japanese. I can’t read it all clearly ’cause of the poor picture quality, but it my best guess is that it says “日本赤十字社医療センター”, which means “Japanese Red Cross Medical Center”.
I just noticed the big red cross above the writing… so yeah, Red Cross Center it is. ^^;

He reminds me of this doll I had as a kid. She had different outfits you could pop on and off of her. However her back didn’t exist at all. It was flat. So her backside was always bare. However, you were suppose to pop her into different scenes which is why she was flat. So you could put her into her spot in the store or on the sidewalk or in her kitchen.
