I liked that coat. However, you’re probably on to something…Even the Master, during a certain episode, said “He’s wearing yellow trousers and a vulgarly colored jacket.”
That’s exactly what I was going to ask. It really does look like him, except something is a bit off about the chin, but maybe he lost weight or got plastic surgery.
The Doctor has been known to have some…different…styles. I guess he couldn’t leave Doctor Who behind entirely.

I love him and hate him at the same time. I love him because he’s AMAZING! But hate him because he can pull off a tux top and kilt at a formal event and I’m sorta bleh. Plus he also looks amazing in drag,like better than me, and I’m pretty cute.

Its obviously for a show or film and ‘that guy’ has more acting skills in his little finger than the most Hollywood ‘stars’ and yet you dont seem to know his name…..how odd.
First, it’s not OBVIOUS that he’s dressed that way for a movie role — but, that being the case, fine — the wardrobe manager should be sacked.
Secondly, I’m not from the UK and don’t watch Doctor Who, so why WOULD I know his name? But, if it makes you feel any better, if it had been a “Hollyweirdo” in the picture, he or she would probably not have rated the courtesy of a name reference either – regardless of his or her ability to act.

Actually, only a very GOOD nerd (or just someone who was alive then) would know that in the olden days the Doctor was often called “Doctor Who” rather than “the Doctor”. Such as certain classic episodes entitled “Doctor Who and the Silurians”. And yes, these episodes do refer to the character, not the show title. When the show started, people really did call him “Doctor Who”. Like that song… “Doctor Who is gonna fix it, Doctor Who will put it right, as he moves across the galaxy at twice the speed of light…” (by Bullamakanka for those who are interested).

I’m neither from there or moving there, but as a Canadian I guess we ARE part of the commonwealth. I can never decide which doctor is my fave – there is something about 9, 10, and 11 that gets me. But honestly, I think 11 is the only one I would cheat on my husband and girlfriend for. David Tennant has acting chops!
Totally agreed. 8 appealed to the little Victorian geek in me, but I became a massive Dr. Who fan with 9 and 10 sealed the deal. I still haven’t seen 11 in action so I will reserve opinion for later.

It is David tennant..before he became way famous, back in the 80s on some show. Hence why he looks slightly different as hes much younger.

He was born in 1971, and was not really a child actor. When he finished school, he initially primarily worked on stage. His first breakout television role was around 1994 in Takin’ Over the Asylum. But he did not steadily work television afterward until around 2004 or 2005…and the rest is history…

uuuhhh I had those pants in 69′ when I was in the Village and a few shirts with the same cut and one where that the paisley was smaller, but the color was close. Never put them together like that. I wore a long sleeved navy blue with patch pockets and epitets with the pants. And my hair was past my shoulders.

Most celebrities don’t have style, they have stylists. What happened to his stylist is anyone’s guess (revenge?).
If one was hired on his behalf, he’d drive them to drink…his taste is that ecclectic. Flowers and weird designs don’t faze him on his own clothes…but he’s most often found in a t-shirt and jeans or a hooded sweatshirt when not working. One of his favorite suits is maroon velvet.
I can see him personally wearing both pieces, but doing so separately, as he is not the least bit averse to wearing colors or patterns.
Again, this is a costume for Decoy Bride and is a specific plot point in the movie…

This is almost certainly an outfit he was given by an on-set stylist- the clothes he wore as the Doctor were things he chose for himself, so he definitely has a better sense of style than this!

It is for a movie called Decoy Bride that will hit theaters (in the UK to begin with…no sales announcement has been made yet regarding US distribution rights) sometime during 2011.
And yet he still looks amazing like that.

Must be for a film / TV role. Having said that, Paisley is named after the Scottish town of Paisley and Plaid (ie Tartan) is the national fabric pattern of Scotland. At least he’s being true to his heritage.
