Sure, it may just be the wind, but I prefer to think that after a bad e-meter reading, this hairstyle was some sort of Scientological penance Tom was requred to perform. “We’re suspending your Operating Thetan status, Tom. Go out and wear this hairstyle for a few weeks, and we’ll revisit the issue.” They put some goop in his hair, sent him away, and giggled to themselves — “what should we make him do next?”
