I can’t say anything bad about this kid, because I’m pretty sure he’s the one who helped me install Windows 3.1 on my IBM clone back in 1992. Sure, I had to listen to him talk about DOOM cheat codes the whole time, but if it weren’t for him, I never would have had Minesweeper. Or SkiFree!

This is a leaked promotional shot from Lou Ferrigno’s upcoming teen comedy, 17 Again, Again: 17 Squared, where he plays the girl who sat next to you in sixth-grade math and snapped her gum a lot. Initially, the director (Michael Bay) didn’t even want to consider him for the role, but Lou really killed it at the audition. The man wields a protractor and Lisa Frank notebook pretty convincingly.

It’s not often that you see these two hair catastrophes in the same place at the same time. In fact, I was beginning to think that the fuzzy mullet was the superhero alter-ego of the shellac helmet. Shellac Helmet goes about its business, managing the Dairy Queen on Skyland Boulevard in Tuscaloosa. But when disaster strikes (i.e. someone drank all the Night Train), it’s Fuzzy Mullet to the rescue! POW, you just got smacked with his Super Stars-and-Bars Belt Buckle!
Shellac Helmet will be back just in time to miss the action and feign confusion. And then drink all the Night Train.

I believe it was philosopher George Santayana who said, “Those who cannot remember the past are condemned to repeat it.”
And yet I can’t help but think that if the whole world collectively forgot the 80s in their entirety, the human race would be a happier one altogether.
Hell, I remember the past just fine, but so far that doesn’t seem to be doing anything to make the latest styles from American Apparel go away.

What I don’t understand about this picture is all the beaming delight. What could these freaks possibly be so damn happy about? Was AquaNet on sale at Walmart? Did the meth lab have a particularly good year?
The kid’s got it right though. That forced smile just screams, “Eleven years till I move out. Eleven years till I move out. Please, god, don’t let those years of hairspray inhalation affect my college applications.”
